Mr. Palomar by Italo Calvino is the inspiration behind James Talbot’s latest work. The title character, Mr. Palomar, is defined as “a seeker of knowledge, a visionary in a world sublime and ridiculous. Alone, his cosmic perspective on the ordinary balances between the comedic present and the eternal void.”

James utilizes his camera, echoing Mr. Palomar on his quest to find connection within a seemingly chaotic, sometimes unintelligible world.
